This project was performed during our studio course which focused on climate adaptive design strategies. This library is set in Edmonton, Alberta, CA. The goal was to design a small library suitable for an urban community that made use of passive design strategies to reduce energy use and maintain comfort within the building. Our team focused on using solar heat gains and natural ventilation to eliminate the need for A/C and lower energy requirements by ~30%.
